How to apply
- 1
There is no direct application: the Segment startup program pages redirect to Twilio's generic startups page.
- 2
If you bank with Ramp, open Rewards > Offers in the Ramp dashboard and redeem the Segment credits perk.
- 3
Otherwise use Segment's standard free tier alongside a free analytics startup plan (Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog).
Gotchas
- Perk directories still advertise 'Segment for free for 2 years' or '$50,000 credits'; Segment's own pages no longer do.
- Twilio states it does not offer additional credits to startups; only the standard new-account trial credit applies.
- The Ramp perk is the only official listing of Segment startup credits found, and its terms live on Ramp's site.
About the Twilio Segment program
The Twilio Segment Startup Program used to give early-stage companies Segment's customer data platform free for up to two years, and third-party directories still list it (older versions quoted $50,000 in credits). As of November 3, 2026, however, segment.com/startups and segment.com/industry/startups both redirect to Twilio's 'Free resources for startups' page, whose FAQ states: 'Every Twilio customer gets a small credit when they open an account to start building their first project. We do not offer additional credits to startups at this time.' No Segment-specific startup offer, eligibility criteria or application form remain on segment.com or twilio.com.
The only Segment startup credits still advertised on an official page are through a fintech perks platform: Ramp's Partner Rewards lists $50,000 in Segment credits for Ramp customers. HubSpot for Startups also keeps a partner page for 'Segment Startup Program' members, which suggests the partner-gated version may still be honoured, but Segment itself publishes nothing about it.
Startups looking for the same kind of offer can combine a free analytics program (Mixpanel for Startups, Amplitude Startup Program, PostHog for Startups) with Segment's standard free tier, or use the Ramp perk if they bank with Ramp.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Segment Startup Program still open?
Not as a direct program. On 2026-11-03 segment.com/startups redirected to Twilio's startups page, which states Twilio does not offer additional credits to startups at this time. Ramp still lists $50,000 in Segment credits for its customers.
What did the program offer?
Earlier versions gave early-stage startups Segment free for up to two years (older materials cited $50,000 in credits). Those terms no longer appear on segment.com.
