How to apply

Gotchas

  • You must send data within 90 days of acceptance or you are removed from the program and barred from rejoining.
  • One free year only; there is no second year and no credits to carry over.
  • Startups can participate once; previous credit-program members are ineligible.
  • Older Mixpanel pages (and a Segment integration page) still mention $50,000 or $100,000 in credits; those offers are closed.
  • If you exceed 1 billion events during the year you must move to a paid Growth/Enterprise plan or the Free plan; Mixpanel contacts you in advance.

About the Mixpanel program

Mixpanel for Startups gives eligible companies their first year of Mixpanel free on the Startup Plan, which covers data volumes of up to 1 billion events per year and includes the full product suite (all advanced reports such as Signal, Experiments with Feature Flags, Data Pipelines, Group Analytics, Warehouse Connectors and Session Replay). This replaced the earlier credit-based program in September 2024; the old $50,000 credits no longer apply to new applicants, and companies that were in the credit program cannot join again.

Eligibility: incorporated less than five years ago, raised no more than $8 million USD in total funding, never on a paid Mixpanel plan, and no other Mixpanel offers previously redeemed. If you were referred by a VC or accelerator you select that partner in the application form; otherwise choose 'no referral partner'. Once you confirm eligibility and submit the form, the account is provisioned automatically and the free year starts.

Accepted startups must start sending data to Mixpanel within the first 90 days; otherwise they are removed from the program and prohibited from rejoining, so Mixpanel advises applying only when ready to implement. Startups that redeemed an offer through Product School or another partner are also ineligible. The program offers one free year only; afterwards you move to Mixpanel's Free, Growth or Enterprise plans at standard pricing.
