Gotchas

  • You cannot apply without an existing Clerk application on your account.
  • The eligibility window is measured from launch, not incorporation, and closes after one year.
  • The discount percentage and duration are not published; you learn them at approval.

About the Clerk program

Clerk for Startups lets you "apply to get Clerk Pro features at a discount for your early-stage startup". Eligibility: "Your team is eligible up to 1 year after launch with up to $5 million in venture funding." The discount percentage and duration are not published; the page only says "Your discount period starts as soon as your application is approved. Apply once you're ready to upgrade."

You must be signed in to a Clerk account that already has an application: the form warns "There are no applications associated with your account. Please sign in to a Clerk account with applications or create an application before applying." The form asks for name, company email, company website and an optional partner.
