Requirements
- Founded within the last two years
- Under $5M raised in venture capital
- Never a paying Sentry customer
Not eligible
- Companies that have paid for Sentry before
- YC and a16z speedrun companies must use the separate partner deal instead
How to apply
- 1
Sign up for a free Sentry account at sentry.io/signup and note your organization slug.
- 2
Open sentry.io/for/startups/apply and submit the form with startup name and website, organization slug, founder names, contact email, founding date and funding details (total amount and investor names).
- 3
If you are a YC or a16z speedrun founder, redeem the partner deal through Bookface or the deals portal instead; the deals do not stack.
- 4
Expect a reply within 2-3 days; once approved, credits are applied to the organization and expire after 12 months.
Gotchas
- Credits expire 12 months after they are granted.
- Strict age and funding caps: founded within two years and under $5M raised.
- Any prior paid Sentry usage disqualifies you.
- The YC / a16z speedrun deal does not stack with the $5,000 credits.
About the Sentry program
Sentry for Startups provides up to $5,000 in Sentry credits (expiring after 12 months) and priority support. Eligibility per the apply page: founded in the last 2 years, raised less than $5M in venture capital, and new to paying for Sentry. You need a free Sentry account first because the form asks for your organization slug (the subdomain in your Sentry URL, e.g. 'myorganization' for myorganization.sentry.io), plus startup name and website, founder names, contact email, founding date and funding details including total amount and investor names.
Founders in YC or a16z speedrun are directed to Bookface or the deals portal for a separate deal; Sentry states the two offers don't stack. Sentry says you will generally hear back within 2-3 days.
Sentry's other sponsored programs (open source, non-profit, education) are separate and exclude profit-making companies, so startups should use this program rather than the sponsored-account route.
