How to apply

    Once approved, fee waivers are applied to the account for the stated volume or period; standard pricing applies beyond it.

Gotchas

  • Benefits are local-currency caps that differ by country; what you get depends on stage (pre-seed vs seed vs Series A) as well as market.
  • Fee waivers run until the volume cap or period ends (3 months of Grow; HK gateway waiver is HK$50,000 per month for 6 months); unused allowance does not carry over.
  • Hong Kong is ecosystem-gated: without Cyberport, HKSTP, AppWorks or SparkLabs membership there is no offer.
  • Standard Airwallex fees apply to everything outside the waived amounts, and Airwallex says it prioritises startups that have raised external funding.

Airwallex for Startups is a set of regional offers for new Airwallex customers that are venture-backed and at pre-seed, seed or Series A stage. The program is free to join but the benefits differ by market, so the figures below are country-specific rather than a single global package, and standard Airwallex pricing applies outside the waived amounts.

Australia: pre-seed startups get 3 months of the Explore tier free; seed-stage startups get 3 months of the Grow tier free, waived fees on the first AUD 100,000 of payments collected and fee-free FX on the first AUD 100,000 of conversions; Series A and beyond get partner perks (Airwallex lists $250K in Google Cloud credits, 6 months of Notion Business with AI, and 25% off new Slack Pro/Business+ plans for 12 months). New Zealand: the same seed-stage package in NZD (3 months of Grow, NZD 100,000 fee-free payments and FX) plus partner perks such as US$100,000 in AI compute credits. United Kingdom: 0% payment-method fees on the first GBP 10,000, no FX fees on the first GBP 10,000 of transfers, 2% cashback on the first GBP 10,000 of card spend, and 20% off Carta's first year; UK founders can apply directly or through their VC.
